Bourjois paris smoky eyes eyeshadow trio - 08 vert trendy

hmm... I don't like this at all...

I must admit, the colours are brilliant, pigmentation is great (well, not top top but way better than a lot of other eyeshadows
There was a really great sale on all Bourijois cosmetics, I was standing there and couldn't decide which trio I should go for since all they've got a great colour selection. I was so tempted to get three but ended up with just this green one as I know I've already got tones of makeup at home...
Lasting power is good, not excellent but again, better than a lot of other brands out there. I didn't need to touch up my eyeshadow during the day (I left the house at 0725 and did not get home until 1930-ish).

I'm glad that I only got the one, and got this in UK, and got this only on the sale because... these eyeshadows crease like crazy...
I mean... VERY BADLY... (it's not the end of the world... I could use a primer and only wear them during autumn/winter... it's just that it's not as fun having all these restrictions and this makes me feel that this trio doesn't worth the money. Moreover, primers are expensive)
Didn't I just said that I did not need to touch up my eyeshadow during the day? yea, for my left eye that doesn't crease. My two eyelids are very different in the way the lids fold when I open my eyes. It's always the right eye has a problem with eyeshadow creasing...

If you don't have a crease, if you don't have oily eyelids, if you don't mind paying for a good primer, I do recommend this. Otherwise, STAY AWAY FROM THIS.
I love all those shades the trio comes in, check out their website for more details.

Yummy Milk & Chocolate for this winter!

I like this look for Uni during winter since milk chocolate goes with most winter items from my walldrobe :)
Simple, natural and fresh!

Let's get started!
1). Start with a fresh cleaned, moisturised face. Apply a primer if you need to. Conceal your under-eye-circles as usual, using a liquid concealer: Dot the product below your eyes and dab with your clean ring finger!
2). In winter, I much prefer using a liquid foundation than any other formulae because the air is so dry in the winter. I am showing two liquid foundations that I like, and they both have sunscreen in it. Yes! you should protect your skin from sun damage even if it's winter because the sun is till out just not as harsh!

3). Set your foundation using a loose powder, just simply dust it all over your face and neck.

4). Fill in your eyebrows like you would usually do, making sure the colour of your brow pencil suits your hair colour, darking towards the end of your brow.

5). Use a shimmery white eye colour mousse as a base colour of your lids, I also use this as a primer for my eye shadow since this stuff is really good at preventing my eye shadow from creasing! Amazing :D
Using the shimmery champagne colour (shade 1) in this quad, highlight your brow-bone and sweep it all over your lids. Apply the bronze colour (shade 3) on your outer V.
Pat a shimmery gold colour on the middle of your lids, then slightly blend out any harsh edges but make sure it's not going over the crease.

Line your eyes - make sure you stay as close to your upper lash line as possible, keep it thin and simple.
Curl your lashes and apply a natural looking mascara, one that's good at separating your lashes, gives your lashes a little bit of lengthening (but not too much!) but will not give you a dramatic volume. I always prefer to use a waterproof mascara.

6). Apply a soft coral mousse blush.
And set it with a soft peachy powder blush to increase the staying power. This blush contains some gold shimmer, which also gives my cheeks a glow :)

7). Line your lips with a lip pencil that is the same colour as your natural lip colour.
Apply a nude pink lipstick.
Finish off with a baby pink lipgloss with SPF 4 :D

Now you have it!
All you need to do now is, pop a matte press powder in your school bag with a retractable powder brush, your lipstick and lipgloss, and you are ready to go!
Have fun!

Go Pink & Purple on an Autumn Day Out (Full Face Make Up)

Pink and Purple are so wearable for most people. After having months of hot sunny days, pink is introducing some warmth to this chilly autumn, also makes you looking refresh. With purple, being a great companion to pink, they are like sisters. Even if it's turned cold, make sure you still wear some SPF especially on sunny days.

Let's get started!
1). Apply your favourite primer to help your make-up stays on for longer, especially if you know it is going to be a long day out and that you are not going to have time doing touch-ups all the time.

2). Choose a long-lasting liquid concealer with a yellow undertone to conceal your under-eye-circles. Dot the product on your under-eye-area and dab with your clean ring finger/sponge until the product is blended well.

3). Here, I am using a cream-to-powder foundation with SPF25. The reason why I have chosen to use a cream-to-powder formula is because it's autumn and the air is a bit drier than it was in the summer, but this is not as heavy as a liquid foundation. Normally, I use a powder or mousse foundation for summer, a liquid foundation during the winter. Since I am going to visit the zoo, meaning I will be outdoor for the whole day, I am using one with SPF in it(I am also wearing a sunscreen!).

4). Since I used a cream-to-powder foundation, I can skip this step. But if any touch-up is needed during the day, I will just sweep this powder on my T-zone to keep my face from getting shiny.

5). Using a brow pencil, fill in your eyebrows following your natural brow-shape. Make sure that it is lighter at the beginning of the brow and darker towards the end. Your brow-colour should be lighter in colour to your hair if you have dark hair, darker than your hair if you have blonde hair.

6). Since I have oily eye-lids, I am using this mousse eye colour as a base, not that it can stop my eye-shadow from creasing, also give a shimmery undertone to my eye-shadow.

7). Using a pink eye shadow, sweep it all over your lid, but do not go over your crease. Then, use a dark purple to go on the outer V, blend to prevent any harsh edges but do not go over the crease. Apply a very light pink colour to highlight your brow-bone.

8). Line your eyes using a water-proof eye liner. Here, I am using a black liquid liner. Do not over do this, line as close to your upper lash line as possible to keep you from looking too dramatic for a day time look. Finish up your eyes by curling your lashes and apply a water-proof mascara that is not going to give you a dramatic looking lashes, but great as separating and maybe a little lengthening as well.

9). For your cheeks, I am using a pink cream blush and setting with a pink powder blush to enhance the staying power. Use a very light hand because you are topping one blush on another. Then, using a shimmery white colour to highlight your cheek-bone and the high points of your face (e.g. bridge of your nose, "cubic" of your upper lip).

10). Using a pencil lip-lining, line your lips following the natural shape of your lips.

11). Finish with your favourite lipstick and lipgloss. Here, I am using a deep purplely-pink lipsticks with shimmers in it, topping with a baby pink lipgloss with SPF4.

Now, you are ready to go :)
Have a nice day.

My scars are fading away~~~~slowly...

These products claim to help clear imperfections fights blemishes and blackheads, refine pores, smooths skin texture, leaves skin soft and supple and at the same time moisturise your skin. It says it is specially formulated for skin that is prone to imperfections, visible pores or blotches. They contain salicylic acid and zinc that helps with clearing imperfections and prevent them appearing while leaving the skin feeling soft an comfortable.

I have been using them since June and I have to say, in terms of moisturising, I do NOTfind it works at all. However, I can tell that my scars are fading away, and I am not getting that many acnes than I used to.
If you know me, I was on medication for my acnes, both topical and internal. But I was not on any of these medication when I was using these products. Mainly because I was such a fool and did not take with me enough medication when I went back to Hong Kong for the summer.
However, I do not find these products help fighting blackheads or refine my pores...

It felt so refreshing when I applied the day-time tube, the consistency is in between a lotion and a gel, gets absorbed by the skin quite quickly and did not irritate my skin. Just need to be careful not to put it too close around my eyes since it contains a bit a alcohol, not a great amount like a lot of other acne-fighting products, only a small amount that you could only just about to smell it.

But...
I do not think that I like the consistency of the product from the night-time tube... It comes in a clear gel but it is so sticky and it felt like I had put a gel mask on for all night that I could feel I had a layer of 'film' on my face.

Overall, I definitely can see my scars are fading away(took a bit of time though...), other than that, I do not think the products are doing what they claimed they would do.

Will I purchase them again? NO.

Really good facial scrubs

If you suffer with acnes, blackheads, and very oily skin, this is the facial cleanser you might want to try out. This product conatins salicylic acid, together with micro-beads. When I said micro-beads, I do mean very tiny beads that are small enough to really clean up the dirt in your pores. I have never tried any other exfoliants contains beads that are smaller than that in this gel wash. Really does a good job prevent spots (acne). It claims it has 93% reported effectiveness (clearer skin tested on 50 women) and if I was one of them got tested, I would be one of them finding this product effective. However, this product is designed for people who have really oily skin so if you don't (let's say if you have slightly oily skin; combination skin; only oily in certain weather) do reduce the use as this product can leave your skin with hardly any oil left after used (e.g. only during the winter; twice a week)

If you want a really good scrub the cleanses away absolutely everything, you should choose St. Ives' range. All their scrubs (no matter if that's a face scrub or body polisher) always contains an incredibly HUGE amount of exfoliants!!! I am not lying, what do you think that gives them an award of the best scrub in the UK? Ingredients are natural, no harsh chemicals, yet, not expensive at all. They do different products to suit people with different skin problems, you will find one that suits your needs. If you choose to get one like mine, just make sure you don't use it every day or you will over exfoliate your skin... this might cause break outs.

this scrub is quite good, first time I experienced a product that can make my skin stay away from getting oily during the day, highly recommended especially to use in the summer
It's a treat
However, in terms of 'scrub', I found that the rice powder is a bit too big to deeply clean my pores (as I have got really serious blackheads problem...)

after sticking with the Nivea Oil Free moisturising fluid for years, I found this product as my 2nd favourite day time face moisturiser, very suitable to use during the summer
Now I use Nivea Oil Free Moisturising Fluid during the winter and this for summer :D
I love the texture as well, not greasy at all and get absorbed pretty easily~

Brilliant lipsticks, they do NOT dry your lips!

Do you have a problem with lipsticks that they tend to dry your lips out whenever you wear them? I used to, even if I had made an effort drinking 8 glasses of water a day!
But not any more since I've came across the following products!

The Body Shop
Colourglide™ Lip Colour
Shade I like: 42 Dusk Pink

This one gives a matte look but never makes your lips dry (or even feel like it!). Brilliant range of colour, they have these in both with shimmer or without. Goes on easily and does stay on, just feels like normal lip balm when I put it on and gives a sheer look, but DOES NOT stick!!! :D If it's been a while and has lost a little bit of shine, just put any lip balm on top of that, the colour wouldn't get wiped out^^

L'Oréal Paris

Color Riche Shine Gelée
Shade I like: 104 Pretty Peach; (I also like 303 Sweet Tea but nowhere I could find somewhere that has stock!)

Honestly, I cannot find another colour lipstick that can give your lips moisture better than this. Yes! Instead of drying your lips, this colour lipstick moisturise your lips, and the day I am wearing this product, I don't need to bring a lip balm with me at all. All shades came with great amount of shimmer, shines like lip gloss but DOES NOT stick!!! :D

(*They claim that it's a blend of "delicious colour of a lipstick, the crystal-shine of a lip gloss and the nourishing moisture of a lip balm".) <---- Honestly, I DO THINK SO!!

PUPA MILANO - Non Conventional Beauty

New Chic Designer Lipstick & Lip Liner
Shade I like: 02
Net Weight: 12oz; 3.6ml

I found that this lipstick is great to use over the summer. DOES NOT leave your lips greasy, waxy, nor sticky, it feels like you are not wearing anything on your lips at all. However, somehow, this lipstick seems to do a great job retaining the moisture of your lips, making them smooth and soft without any help of a lip balm.

This lipstick is also very, VERY pigmented but does not transfer easily, staying power is relatively good (I mean... I had an ice lolly 2 hours after I put this lipstick on but still got like 50% of the colour left after I finished the ice lolly).

This lipstick is called a 'Lipstick & Lip Liner' because there's a different on the two opposite sides of the lipstick to the middle, as you can see in the picture. This design allows you to do your lip colour and lip liner in just one stroke. The colour on both sides of this shade appears to be a matte bright pink colour, the a shimmery, pearly soft pink in the middle.

However, I like to do it my own way, and I can get two looks out of this lipstick.

Method 1: Apply the matte bright pink colour, which is on both sides of the lipstick and just this colour on it's own for a more fun, playful, colourful look. This lipstick is really pigmented that you don't actually need to put a lot on.

Method 2: Apply the matte bright pink colour as a base colour and put the pearly soft pink over for a softer, elegant look.

*By the way, I got this at SaSa Outlet in HK so it only costs me HKD28.00. It is, however, much more expensive normally. And yes, the cap comes with a mirror, which I absolutely love!

Does its job but does NOT cause irritation! (Simple Nourishing Eye Make-up remover Cream)

Have you ever found it difficult to remove waterproof mascara? Did you have to wipe so hard it's almost like you were going to pull your lashes off, causing more wrinkles? When you do happened to find one that does remove your waterproof mascara it tends to contain alcohol or irritates your eyes, and dries your skin up?

Try this:

Yes, I know... The Simple range is formulated for sensitive skin but it does not mean that other people cannot use it!

The Simple Nourishing Eye Make-up remover Cream allows you to remove any make-up, including waterproof mascara, without having to put in a lot of effort~
I only use waterproof mascaras and did find it difficult to find a good make-up remover that does not irritate my eyes and skin, at the same time can remove my make-up completely. I hate those with alcohol in because I wouldn't be able to even open my eyes afterwards and they dry up my skin.
I am very pleased with this product and I found it even better than the Simple Conditioning Eye Make-up remover, which comes in like a clear solution.

And I don't trust any type of facial wipes. NEVER rely on facial wipes to remover your make-up because they never do. NEVER!!

With this, I don't even need to use cotton pads...Even though it suggests to use cotton pads but I use my own method, quick, easy, and lazy:

-Squeeze a pea size of the product, massage it on my entire face like you do with a facial wash! (I use this to remove all make-up not just eye make-up~)
-make sure to run my fingers GENTLY across the lashes, only a gentle touch because you don't want to introduce wrinkles to your eye area.
-rinse off with luke warm water
-then I just jump into the shower in the evening and cleanse my facial like usual

This product cleans off every single trace of your make-up and leaves your skin so smooth afterwards, feels like you've applied cream on your face~
Highly recommended!
