Warming or Cooling? You choose!

Biore Pore Perfect Warming Blackhead fighting cream wash - heats and targets

If you have been reading my posts in the past few months (on facebook), you would know that this is the face wash I bought for 49p.
The consistency of this face wash is so thick. It's almost like PVA glue, if not, thicker.

It says to apply onto wet face with dry hands. But as you massage the product over your face, you will found that you really need to keep adding water to your face or you won't be able to spread the product over your face. Once the product is in contact with water, it heats up, not massively that it's going to burn your face but you can feel the warmth. I'd say it's warmer than my shower temperature. Just need to make sure that you store this at a dry place.

There are loads of exfoliants (well, nothing can beat the St. Ives. but when it's compared to a normal face scrub in the market), it's so much that they can effectively exfoliate every single part of your face without having to deliberately move the beads to a spot where you want to exfoliate every time. The exfoliants are so small in size, but I found that they are a bit 'rough'. What I mean is, the exfoliants seem to have sharp edges so make sure you don't rub too hard (you shouldn't anyway).

In general speaking, this product is gentle enough to use once every day, I normally do that at night. It leaves your skin so smooth, very smooth, extremely smooth that you can feel it straight away when you are rinsing the product off. Does dry my face out a little but I guess it's because of the warming properties and the fact that I've got heating on in my house............. So... Can't really give a fair comment on this. It does reduce the appearance of blackheads but not by much, but it did not break me out :)

Biore Pore Perfect Pore Unclogging Scrub - exfoliates and refines

The consistency of this product is very interesting. Yes, I said interesting. In the brand new tube, it looks like A tube of ice-cream. It's got some shiny swirl in the product, with green beads, very creamy looking. As you squeeze the product out, I said to myself, it reminds me of something...

It's not sticky, it stays like a slid sitting on your fingers (so if you tilt your hand over, the product WILL fall off your hand) but as you press it, it turns into a mash yet creamy.

As I use it more and more, I realised the most out-standing good thing about this product is that you won't waste one single drop of this product. Why? Look at the tube! The product WILL NOT get left behind the tube as it does not stick on the tube like any other cream/gel/foam/liquid/lotion or whatever!!!!!

Do you know what I mean? Then I finally know what it reminds me of - wasabi! The consistency is like wasabi! Not sticky, like a solid when you squeeze it out and turn into a creamy mash as you press it.  WASABI

The amount of exfoliants are not as many as the warming one I mentioned above. However, I prefer these beads than the ones in the warming tube since these ones are not as harsh, not like the warming ones, they are all very sharp. Also, these beads are bigger in size comparing to the ones in the warming tube. However, it does not down-grade the performance. Instead, this one does a way better job than the warming one on reducing the appearance of blackheads that the results it so obvious! No, it does not break me out!

It gives a slight cooling sensation instead of warming. I almost did not realised the cooling effect the first time I used this but I actually thought that something's wrong with the water...^^" The cooling sensation is not as strong as the Clean&Clear or Neutrogena's products, only a slight cooling effect to make you feel fresh.

So creamy and I really like how creamy it feels on my skin. I kept wanting to wash my face again and again with this product but I just knew that I mustn't. so smooth, very smooth, extremely smooth that you can feel it straight away when you are rinsing the product off. Does not dry out my skin at all. Certainly gentle enough to use once a day.

Both of the products mentioned above contain salicylic acid, which is good for helping the removal of dead skin cells that also is a plus for acne prone skin. Also, they both have the same lovely scent. They both have a refreshing cucumber scent with a hint of floral, I am so addicted to the smell that sometimes I just randomly open the cap just to smell it...

Have you ever smelled olives?

I don't know what raw/freshly picked olive smells like but when I first smelt this product, I said to myself, "THIS IS SOOOOOOOOOOO NICE! Amazing! I have NEVER EVER smelt anything that nice before!"

This is the Body Shop's body butter in the scent of olives. This is suitable for dry skin and I tend to go for products that are designed for dry skin in the winter, because of the cold weather with the radiator drying the air out. In the summer, I tend to go for moisturisers that are designed for normal skin.

Just like all other body butters by the Body Shop, looks like it's got a consistency like butter, so it won't leak even if you tilt the tub upside down. When you smooth your fingers on the product, it feels like you are running your fingers on ice cubes, just glide on so smoothly without being greasy, but like water, so smooth, nothing sticky. My skin feels so hydrated throughout the day until the next shower, just like all other body butters they do. :)
It does not leave your skin greasy, the product get absorbed straight away. It does not form a 'layer of film' either. Great, great, great! :D

All I do is apply this all over my body (paying more attention on my back and heels: the driest place(s) on my entire body) after shower at night, and you only need a very tiny amount. This 200ml tub it going to last me...SOOOOOOOOOO LONG!!!! (They also do travel size body butters, which can probably lasts you a month?)

Here comes the best part: the scent. It smells soooooooo refreshing and if I may I would like all my toiletries smell like this, including hair products, maybe home fragrance as well! Oh just make everything in this scent please!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Honestly, you have to smell it to understand. It's not a scent that is to specific to one liking, if you know what I  mean. Some scents, only appeal to e.g. people who like sweet scents/people who like floral scents. But for this one, I think a majority of people are going to like it across different age group. It's not too over powering either, at the same time the smell does last for a good amount of time. Sometimes the scent goes away within minutes of some moisturiser but this one doesn't. You can still smell it on your skin after something like half the day but not that strong that people standing next to you is going to notice. Can't say enough good things about this product :D

I hate it so much when someone walked pass me and I could smell the scent they left behind, either it was their own body smell or what they use!!! The scent was still "ok" as they were walking pass you, but what they left behind can be soooooo STRONG! Also, what the person like might not appeal to me!><

GO SMELL IT!!!! If you have any doubt, just get a free sample. I understand that sometimes you may think that it smells nice in store but once after you've purchased it, you found yourself not able to stand it when you actually come to use the product, especially every day. So, JUST GRAB A FREE SAMPLE TO TRY!!!!

TAG: My Makeup Story ♡

1). How old were you when you started wearing make up?
When I started ballet... I was about... five or six?

2). How did you get into make up?
Have had enough fuss from acnes. Started looking up and researching information on skincare then how to improve/cover up scars, how to fight with oily skin...etc. Later on, when my acne problem finally is under control/ has improved, I said to myself, 'I want to get back what I lost', I want my even, smooth skin; I want to have a shine-free face, I want not scars, I want less blackheads...etc. :)

3). What are some of your favourite brands?
Maybelline New York!!!
And some products from Max Factor and L'oreal Paris as well.

4). If you could only wear 4 products on your face, what would they be?
Foundation Powder, Eyebrow pencil, Blush and Tinted Lip Balm.

5). What does make up mean to you?
In HK, it's a way for me to make a barrier between my face and the pollutants... It works, because make up can be easily taken off by make up remover, together with all the dirt sitting on top. If I didn't were any make up out, the dirt can get right into my pores and can be such a pain cleaning them up that I would have to use an extractor... I honestly had less blackheads whenever I wore make up out!
In UK... In the winter, it's a way to keep my face being moisturised and away from moisture being stripped away by the wind/cold weather...etc.
Also a lazy way to wear at least, some sun protection xD (As you are supposed to re-apply sun screen every 2 to 3 hours, I re-apply my foundation powder with SPF 30 :D)

6). What is your favourite thing about make up?
They are pretty to look at, no matter if it's the packaging or the product itself:)
(I have a thing of looking at foundation liquid... I just love looking at the product so much...^^")

7). What do you think about drugstore make up versus high-end make up?
Drugstore make up = sensible buyers' choice.
High-end = a rip off, all money goes to the packaging.

8). What is the one tip advise you can give to a beginner?
Start with doing your eyebrows before you start getting into foundation. Because if you don't do your eyebrows, you look dead even with the perfect foundation for you. Find a good shade and shape for yourself. If you have very dark eyebrows, see if you need a trim to make them look tidy.

9). What is one make up trend you never understood?
Fake-tan? It's acceptable to wear it during the summer for "protection" but why in the winter as well? Wouldn't it mess up all your clothes, towels, bedsheets, pillowcases...etc.?

10). What do you think about the beauty community on youtube?
Keeps me entertained. Fun to watch, even more fun to read the comments because I can find all sort of people there. Now I know that there are people VERY RUDE and IMMATURE but they think that they are the best person in the world. They just think that their thoughts are always 100% right and they have the rights to 'speak up' for other people, but normally their comments are non-sense or lack of knowledge/common sense. Most common thing being, they saw one person did something, they think the whole population of that group of people (e.g. the gender group, the ethnic group, that age group...etc.) do the same. These comments do give me a good laugh, sometimes I do get frustrated though, seeing how stupid and annoying these people are... They do spam!

Dove - Go Fresh Foaming Facial Cleanser - Orang

It claims on the bottle that it leaves your skin clear and fresh, removes any excess oil at the same time gives you moisture. I have never tried Dove facial cleanser before, I have only tried some Dove's moisturisers and body washes before. From my experience with the Go Fresh range of Body Wash, I know the scent would never let me down and after don't know how many years I've avoided foaming facial washes, I decided to buy this. I must admit, seeing "1/4 moisturising cream""with toner" and "removes excess oil" made me want to buy this even more...:P

I have been using this for a month now, every morning and sometimes at night before bed (I use a scrub 2 to 3 days a week). It amazes me. It really does leave my face shine-free for the whole day, no more oily T-zone. It leaves my skin so smooth after use and blackheads are noticeably less visible. I am really impressed with the cleaning power as that was not the selling point of this item!!! You can see the result straight after the first use. Did not break me out, nor did it dry my skin out. Say "thank you" to the 1/4 moisturising cream in all these Dove products!

I like that it comes with a pump (as all foaming cleansers do... some gel cleansers but never the cream ones!). The pump makes life so much easier that I don't have to struggle with picking up the bottle/tube and opening/twisting a cap with wet hands and end up bottles flying everywhere in the bathroom as it can get slippery!!!

Not to mention the scent, the light, lovely, fresh orange scent brings me to heaven, again. I am so obsessed with the Dove's Go Fresh range of smell. All of them... (this is my collection---> http://sphotos.ak.fbcdn.net/hphotos-ak-snc4/hs1178.snc4/155017_1454038803721_1615830076_1027628_7855588_n.jpg) But of course, the scent in this facial cleanser is not as strong as that in the body wash.

The only down side of this could be... this cleanser being a foam. As I mentioned, I haven't used a foaming cleanser for so long. This is because I know that foaming cleanser goes way more quickly than cleansers with another consistency. However, if it is not in a foam consistency, it wouldn't be the Dove Go Fresh Foaming Facial Cleanser...
TOUGH!

There is also an original one - Dove Beauty Moisture Foaming Facial Cleanser. This one is more for people with dry skin. Same size, same consistency, blue and white bottle instead of orange and white. However, I have no idea about the scent...

This is a product from Dove Japan, available in Mannings (HK), don't know about anywhere else since I didn't see then in Watsons nor Sasa when I purchased this back in September 2010. And I don't think it is available in the UK yet. Well, probably available in USA since they seem to import everything from every country. I got this for HKD45.9, not bad :)
